FAQ
Straight answers about USDT wallets: which network to choose, what transfers cost, losing your seed phrase, forgetting your PIN, and how the swap desk works.
Is this wallet really non-custodial? Where are my keys stored?
Yes, fully. Your 12-word phrase is generated by your browser's cryptographic random source, encrypted with AES-256-GCM (key derived from your PIN via 600,000 rounds of PBKDF2-SHA256) and stored only in this browser's local storage. The plaintext never touches a network request. There is no account server — nothing to hack on our side.
Which USDT networks does the wallet support?
The wallet manages one key pair whose address works across all EVM networks — Ethereum (ERC-20), BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism and Avalanche — plus a derived TRC-20 address on Tron. The swap desk supports dozens more networks for exchanging into USDT. See the Networks page for verified contracts.
What does a USDT transfer cost?
It depends on the network, not the token: typically under $1 on Tron, cents on Polygon/Arbitrum/Optimism, and a floating $0.30–$5+ on Ethereum depending on gas. You always need the network's native coin (TRX, ETH, BNB…) to pay the fee. The send form shows a live estimate before you confirm.
I lost my seed phrase. Can you recover my wallet?
No — and no one else can either. There is no server copy of your keys; that absence is what makes the wallet non-custodial. If you can still unlock the wallet, use Backup immediately to reveal and physically write down the phrase. If the phrase is lost and the device is gone, the funds are permanently inaccessible. Anyone offering to 'recover' it for a fee is a scammer.
I forgot my PIN. Is my USDT gone?
No, as long as you have the seed phrase. The PIN only encrypts the vault on this device. Clear the wallet data (or use another device), import your 12 words on the Import page, and set a new PIN — you'll get the same addresses back.
Which network should I choose when withdrawing from an exchange?
Match the receiving address's network exactly — this is the single most important check. TRC-20 is usually cheapest and is fine for transfers to your Tron address; use ERC-20/BEP-20 for your EVM address. Never select a network just because its withdrawal fee is lower if the destination doesn't support it.
How does the Swap desk work, and why are there stages?
The swap is manual: you get a deposit address and an exact amount with a 30-minute window. 'Processing' starts only when your deposit is detected on-chain; 'Confirming' counts the payout's network confirmations; 'Completed' appears only after all confirmations. If the timer expires before any deposit, the order cancels — after a deposit, it always completes.
Why does my balance show in USD if USDT is already dollars?
USDT trades within a fraction of a percent of $1.00, but not exactly at it. The dashboard fetches the live market price (cached for 60 seconds) to show an honest equivalent. If the price API is unreachable, the last known value is used and marked stale — the interface keeps working either way.
How do I verify a USDT transaction really happened?
Ask the sender for the transaction hash and open it on the network's block explorer (links are built into our history view). Check status = Success, the token contract address against our verified list, and that confirmations meet the exchange's threshold.
Is it safe to reuse one USDT address for everything?
It's convenient but hurts privacy: every payment to that address is publicly linkable forever, and anyone you pay can see your balance and history. Prefer one address per counterparty where practical, and never copy 'recent' addresses from your history without verifying them — address-poisoning scams rely on that habit.
What are the 'Buy' and 'Swap' buttons exactly?
Buy redirects to our partner Baltex, where you can purchase USDT with regular payment methods — purchases are handled entirely on their site under their terms. Swap uses our manual desk: you deposit any supported asset to a desk address and receive USDT (or another asset) at a quoted rate with a 0.5% minimum-received guarantee.
Can Tether freeze my USDT?
Tether's contracts on Ethereum, Tron and other chains include a freeze function the issuer controls, used in response to court orders and theft reports. That's a property of the token on every wallet and exchange, not something specific to this app — worth knowing before holding large balances in any stablecoin.
Does the wallet track me? What analytics do you run?
None. No analytics, no pixels, no third-party cookies, no fingerprinting. The only outbound requests are to public blockchain RPC nodes and public price APIs — both needed to show your balance. See the Privacy page for the full (very short) policy.
Can I use the same wallet on multiple devices?
Yes — via your seed phrase. Import the same 12 words on each device (derivation path m/44'/60'/0'/0/0) and each gets the same addresses. The encrypted vault itself never leaves the device where it was created; sync happens through the phrase, not through us.
What's the minimum I should know about backups?
Write the 12 words on paper, twice, stored in two different physical places. Never photograph them, never store them in any app or cloud. Test the backup by importing it once and confirming the address matches. That's the whole discipline — details in our backup guide.
